Adam Doll – Co-Director
Adam is the former Head Boys and Girls Mankato West Tennis Coach. He is a graduate of St. James High School. He was a six-year letter winner for boy’s tennis and a state singles participant his senior year. Adam played four years of college tennis at Minnesota State University, Mankato reaching the ITA regional tournament twice. During this time he began his coaching career as an assistant at St. James high school for 4 years, where he was fortunate enough to see the team make a trip to state in 3 of the 4 years! Starting in 2010 Adam began coaching boys/girls varsity team at West, and two years in Adam was awarded 2012 Girls Section 2AA coach of the year! Adam assisted/ran community education tennis programs in St. James for 7 years, and enjoys co-directing the Mankato summer tennis programs with his wife Sarah now for well over a decade. Adam is currently a teacher within ISD77, serves on GMCTA board, and liason for Caswell’s Indoor sports complex. After 19 seasons Adam took a ‘sabbatical’ from coaching High School sports to be with his family of 5 and help ensure an indoor tennis complex is built in the area as soon as possible! Adam has been the director of tennisinmankato since 2010.

Sarah Doll -Co-Director
Sarah is a 2004 St. James High School graduate. She was a three-year letter winner, one time doubles individual state participant, and one-time team state participant while at St. James. She went on to play 4 years of college tennis at Minnesota State University, Mankato. While in college, Sarah coached for four years in St. James with three of those teams making state tournament appearances. She has 14 seasons of high school coaching experience and 20 summers spent coaching! Sarah was voted STATE Assistant AA Coach of the Year while coaching at Mankato West HS! Josh Prahl (MSU Assistant Women’s/Former West Girls Head/ Co-Head Mankato East’s Boys Coach)
We’re excited to welcome Josh Prahl back to the team! Josh is a former Head Coach of the Mankato West girls tennis team and previously served as Co-Head Coach for the Mankato East boys tennis team. This upcoming season, he will join the Minnesota State University women’s tennis program as an Assistant Coach.
Josh is a graduate of Litchfield High School, where he was a six-year letter winner and four-time state tournament qualifier in singles, doubles, and team competition. His coaching journey began in 2018 as an assistant at Litchfield, where he helped guide the team to a 4th place finish at the state tournament. Since then, he has developed athletes at both the junior high and varsity levels through roles at Mankato East and Mankato West.
Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Coaching and Sports Administration, both from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He currently teaches 7th-grade health and PE at Le Sueur-Henderson Secondary School where he coaches multiple sports.

Aaron Rothenberger (St.Peter Boy’s/Girls Head Coach)
Played varsity tennis at Brandon Valley High school in 1998-1999. Went on to play at South Dakota State University from 1999-2003 and also the assistant men’s coach from 2003-2005. Started coaching St. Peter boys and girls tennis in 2007 and have been there ever since. Coached over 100+ tennis players at St. Peter to both team and individual state tournaments in the past 17 years. Along with coaching, he has run summer tennis camps in St. Peter and worked with middle and high school tennis players across south central Minnesota. He is also a high school social studies teacher at St. Peter. He and his wife Alissa are raising four children who are active in multiple sports including tennis.
Sailor Mohlenbrock (Bethany College Player & LEAD Tennis In Parks Instructor)
Sailor currently plays tennis at the number one singles and doubles spot for Bethany Lutheran College. She graduated from Saint James High School where she played both doubles and singles over three years and placed third in the individual section tournament her senior year. She is a sophomore at Bethany and majoring in math education. Her freshman year of college, she was an assistant coach for the Saint James girl’s tennis team where they were team state participants. Alyssa Luke (MSU Grad Student/Quinnipiac Club Tennis Player)
Alyssa is very excited for her first summer at TennisInMankato! A former varsity tennis player from Massachusetts, Alyssa continued playing at the club level at Quinnipiac University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She has spent over 7 years coaching tennis at summer camps, private courts, and as the assistant coach at her former high school. In the last 2 years she has taught intro to tennis, intro to pickleball, cardio tennis, as well as group and private lessons for adults and kids. Madden Vanderwerf (St.Olaf College Player & JTT Assistant Coach)
Madden is attending St.Olaf pursing a business degree and continuing his tennis skills at the college level. Madden was a 4 year #1 singles player for East High school, a two time state doubles qualifier, three time Big 9 all conference player, a NHS/Link Crew leader, and team captain in Tennis and Soccer. This will be Madden’s 3rd year coaching JTT and offering private lessons! Ask him about his incredible Freshmen season at St. Olaf #best record on team#!

Karlee Prahl
Karlee is a recent graduate from MVL high school. She started tennis her 7th grade year at Litchfield and went on to make several state appearances. Her junior year she transferred to New Ulm to play one singles for New Ulm public the past two years. She plans to go off to military training in the beginning of August.
